One KZN graduate turned his walk across the stage into a double celebration for his degree and his favourite soccer team.

His clip was shared on TikTok by @ukzn_official, the university’s official account, leaving online users vibing hard with the moment and showing mad love.

Kaizer Chiefs fan owns the graduation stage

As the young man stepped up to the stage, he casually pulled out his Kaizer Chiefs shirt like a true fan and flexed with pride. The hall went wild. Everyone cheered as he repped the black and yellow while flashing the biggest smile. This was a double celebration as his team bagged the Nedbank Cup championship just in time for his graduation, after 10 years without a trophy.

A celebration that doesn't end

Briefly News spoke with Amakhosi with die-hard fan Kuhle Dlamini, to talk about the team's awojen spirit by their recent and the fans' loyalty.

We asked the man what flexing a Kaizer Chiefs jersey during such an important moment as the graduation tells us about the power of football in South African Culture. He said:

"Soccer isn’t just a sport in South Africa. It’s emotional, it’s political, it’s cultural. When the Chiefs win, it gives people hope. It unites people from different backgrounds. That graduate showed how deep the connection goes."

Some social media users said Kaizer Chiefs fans are educated, the team asked Kuhle how he feels about that statement. The superfan responded:

"Lol (laugh out loud)! I love that! We've been through memes, mockery, and memes again. But now? Now were're scholars, we're graduates, we're winners. Let the internet know, we're smart and we support a legendary team."

When asked what his hopes are for Kaizer Chiefs moving forward after their big moment is. Kuhle shared:

"I hope this win is the spark we've been needing. I would like to see consistency, hunger, and prophecies. And more than anything, I want to see fans keep the same energy. Let's rebuild the dynasty, brick by brick, goal by goal and regain our sport as the best team in Mzansi.

SA celebrates the graduate and his team
